The Mont-Cenis energy park sets new standards for the environmentally-friendly supply of energy. It is one of the outstanding key projects of the state initiative "Energies of the Future NRW". This energy park was realized with the significant conception and financial participation of Stadtwerke Herne AG. It combines the heritage of the past, the mine gas discharged from the shafts of the old mine, with the technologies of the future - with combined heat and power generation, energy storage and solar energy generation.
